First Universal Cultural Center launched in Namangan

The Fund Forum in collaboration with Mehr Nuri Foundation, the Women’s Council and the SISF present a project to create a Network of Universal Cultural Centers in Uzbekistan. The first recently built Center was launched in Namangan on June 7. Over 500 people attended the opening ceremony for the Center, which included a charitable pilaf reception and a concert. The Network of Centers is seen as an opportunity for interesting and useful leisure while helping strengthen dialog among people of various generations, helping the youth learn skills and contributing to informal artistic education.

National Symphonic Orchestra plays concert with talented musicians

The National Symphonic Orchestra of Uzbekistan played a concert featuring performances by up-and-coming musician Irena Gulzarova of Uspensky Music School in Tashkent and Bulgarian pianist Irina Georgiyeva on June 3 in what was a culmination of the string of concerts by the Orchestra.

The Silk Road in the Center of Berlin

Berlin’s Wilmersdorfer Arcaden shopping center welcomes the public to “Silk Road Tour” Exhibition and make a virtual tour of the historical Silk Road cities, an opportunity to get a taste of Uzbek culture, art and traditions. Organized by the Fund Forum’s Representative Office in Berlin with support from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany, Culture Cooperation International and Wilmersdorfer Arcaden, the exhibition was launched on May 25 and will run through June 4.

Shodiyona Orchestra and Tantana music group perform for children

The Fund Forum and Uspensky Music School have organized an experimental joint concert featuring “Shodiyona” national instrument orchestra and “Tantana” children’s singing group. Timed to coincide with the International Child Protection Day, the concert drew around 200 people. The Fund Forum provided “Shodiyona” orchestra with gift music instruments and honored its members with commemorative presents.

Youth Creativity Palace presents treasure trove of children’s artworks

The Youth Creativity Palace presents a treasure trove of drawings created by children at an exhibition titled “Fairy Tales of the Nations of the World” and a colorful concert featuring young talents. Timed to coincide with the International Child Protection Day, the exhibition presents over 1,000 artworks: drawings and applied art items created by children aged 5 to 14.

As many as 600 children, including 230 orphans and kids from low-income families, had the opportunity to attend a scintillating charitable concert by Aladdin Studio. The colorful concert, another in the string of events dedicated to the International Child Protection Day, took place on May 28 at Tashkent’s Turkiston Palace. On top of the opportunity to watch the performance, the children were given presents provided by the concert organizers, the Fund Forum and the Women’s Council.

Exquisite rock art on display at Usto-Shogird Ceramics School

Usto-Shogird School in Tashkent opened its doors on May 25 to welcome the public to “Rock art in contemporary ceramics”, a display of unique ceramic items with rock art motifs created by the Rakhimov family. The artworks draw on fifteen years of archeological research by masters across Uzbekistan. The visitors can see new types of pottery adorned with rock images from thousands of years ago.

Charity for children
Charity for children

The Fund Forum, the Women’s Council, and Mehr Nuri (Ray of Mercy) charitable foundation are overseeing a series of events honoring the International Child Protection Day, celebrated on June 1. The events include charitable campaigns, concerts, exhibitions and trips to Uzbek historical cities. The festivities will culminate in “In the Name of Childhood” charitable ball in the Japanese Garden in Tashkent and an International Calisthenics Tournament “Baby”. The string of events has kicked off with visits by Women’s Council workers to orphanages on May 24 and 25 to provide orphans with presents. Over 1,000 children in mercy homes have benefitted from the charity visits.
