On July 26, Soong Ching Ling International Children`s Camp kicked off at Crab Island resort area near Beijing. Among the participants is a team of students from Tashkent`s Uspensky Music School, whose participation has been made possible thanks to the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Fund Forum and China`s Soong Ching Ling Foundation.

On July 21, New Otani Hotel in Tokyo hosted Uzbek Culture Evening, which brought together over 250 Japanese government officials, public figures, parliament members, culture and art professionals, scientists and journalists. Organized by the Fund Forum with assistance from Ikuo Hirayama Silk Road Museum Foundation, the event focused on Uzbekistan`s cultural legacy, arts and tourism potential.

On July 20, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia hosted a presentation of Uzbek songs and dance. Organized by the Embassy and the Fund Forum, the event was an opportunity for the representatives of Russian business community, public organizations, ministries, the Duma, heads of diplomatic missions and journalists to get a taste of Uzbek culture.

A laureate of Yangi avlod (New generation) Children`s Art Festival, Diyora Usmanova, participated in the 9th International Children`s Music Contest “Vitebsk 2011” held on July 12-14 as part of the 20th International Festival of Arts “Slavyanskiy Bazar in Vitebsk” in Belarus.

The “Kelajak ovozi” (Voice of the future) Summer Training Camp is alive with exciting activities and workshops where 500 boys and girls from all over the country are gaining new skills and knowledge. The training camp, put together by the Fund Forum and “Kelajak ovozi” Youth Initiatives Center, is held annually in the town of Shakhrisabz in Kashkadarya region and offers interesting events and professional courses in various areas. The most successful participants are awarded diplomas and certificates upon completion of the training programme.

On July 6 the Beijing National Concert Hall hosted the official opening ceremony of Uzbekistan Culture Days in China, followed by a concert by Uzbek performers attended by over 500 representatives of the business community, general public, diplomatic missions and journalists.

“In the Name of Childhood” Charity Ball, one of the most awaited children`s events, on June 6 drew over 1,500 children and their parents. The ball is organized annually in the Japanese Garden in Tashkent by the Fund Forum, the Women`s Council and partners, and concludes the string of events dedicated to the International Child Protection Day. A brainchild of Gulnara Karimova, the project seeks to help discover and support children`s artistic skills and to raise funds for social and charitable projects.

The 4th Children`s International Calisthenics Tournemant “Baby” brought together 266 gymnasts from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan whose performances were viewed by over 1,500 people at “Uzbekistan” Sporting Complex in Tashkent. The Tournament is organized annually by the Fund Forum and Forum Junior Sport Complex and honors every participant with prizes and presents handed by the author of the project Gulnara Karimova.

On June 30 – July 1 the Fund Forum`s representative office in Spain gave a presentation on the project “Support of Women Farmers and Entrepreneurs” as part of a series of business seminars in Madrid and Barcelona organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Spain in partnership with the two cities` Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

On June 30, French musician and composer Jean-Philippe Bruttman demonstrated the beauty, energy and vibrance of flamenco music. The French virtuoso`s concert at the Youth Creativity Palace, another in the series of cultural events organized by the Fund Forum and the French Institute, has become a memorable event that concluded with a five-minute ovation.
